Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for K–2, Years 3–6, and People’s Choice, with art supplies valued at $100+ for each category.

Inspired by the spirit of the Archibald Prize, the Young Avalon Archies encourages children to explore portraiture and creativity by painting, drawing or creating a 2D portrait of someone they know — or even a self-portrait. The exhibition celebrates the imagination and talent of young artists from Kindergarten through to Year 6.

Finalist artwork will be exhibited at the Art Gallery on Avalon Beach from 11–18 May 2026, giving young artists the exciting opportunity to see their work displayed in a professional gallery setting and share it with the local community.

The competition will be judged by resident artist Stephanie Galloway Brown, a respected local artist, community member and Archibald finalist.
